Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight is executive produced by Peter Hastings and Shaunt Nigoghossian along with Chris Amick and Ben Mekler. As of now, Jack Black is the only confirmed cast for the series.

“When a mysterious pair of weasels set their sights on a collection of four powerful weapons, Po must leave his home to embark on a globe-trotting quest for redemption and justice that finds him partnered up with a no-nonsense English knight named Wandering Blade,” reads the synopsis. “Together, these two mismatched warriors set out on an epic adventure to find the magical weapons first and save the world from destruction – and they may even learn a thing or two from each other along the way.”

This marks the Golden Globe winner’s first Kung Fu Panda project outside of the film series. The lead character was previously voiced by Mick Wingert in TV spin-offs Nickelodeon’s Legends of Awesomeness and Prime Video’s Paws of Destiny.

The Kung Fu Panda franchise began in 2008 with the first film getting nominated for an Oscar Award for Best Animated Feature. It featured the voices of Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan, Lucy Liu, Dustin Hoffman, James Hong, and Seth Rogen.

Due to its success, it was followed by two more sequels in 2011 and 2016. The trilogy currently has a combined gross of over $1.8 billion at the worldwide box office.
