Chris Jericho welcomed trademark attorney Mike Dockins as his guest on the “Talk Is Jericho” podcast. Dockins handles trademark issues for professional wrestlers, including many of the wrestlers that work for AEW.
While describing what Dockins does, Jericho confirmed that Cody Rhodes has signed with WWE. The news was previously confirmed by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter and later by PWInsider before Jericho said it on his podcast.
“I’m pulling back the curtain a little bit on the wrestling business,” Jericho said on Talk Is Jericho. “You’re gonna discover how I’ve been able to be Chris Jericho no matter what company I work for or where I wrestle. You’ll hear how Danhausen gets to keep his name and gimmick from promotion to promotion. How Cody got to reclaim Rhodes from WWE even though he’s back in WWE…”
There’s very little doubt that Rhodes will be appearing on WWE TV in the very near future. Dave Meltzer stated on Wrestling Observer Radio that there has been consideration given to having Rhodes not appear until WrestleMania.
However, this past Monday, Seth Rollins said that he will kick off Raw this Monday and the show would not proceed until he has a path to WrestleMania. His verbiage made it sound as if Rhodes might appear this Monday night.
