Former AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR are getting more TV time on AEW Dynamite in recent weeks but, unless they work out a new deal within a few months, they could be on the free agent market in a few months.
Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler were interviewed on “Barstool Rasslin’” and they talked about their plans for 2022. They discussed wanting to get their AEW World Tag Team Titles back and then they talked about their future with the company.
“Because we don’t have very much longer on these current contracts. I don’t know what’s going to happen from there, but we have a short amount of time to accomplish the things we want to accomplish.”
The exact date for the end of the contracts is unknown but they made their debut on the May 27, 2020 episode of AEW Dynamite so if they are under a 2-year deal then it means that they have 6 months left on their contracts.
The team appears to be happy in AEW and a move back to WWE could just put them back in the same lower card spot they were in before they left. But WWE is offering big money for certain names so never say never in wrestling.
Next week on AEW Dynamite from Greensboro, NC, FTR will team with MJF to take on Sting, Darby Allin and CM Punk.
