WWE is dealing with more positive cases of COVID-19 among talent and staff after the initial breakout coming out this past weekend’s events.
PWinsider.com reported that there were additional talents and staff members who tested positive throughout Wednesday. Those people have not been identified. A number of talent was contacted so they can get tested out of caution.
As of Wednesday afternoon, WWE still had plans to go forward with the post-Christmas tour. It was said there has been a lot of phone calls being made and “a lot of running around” as the company tries to stay ahead of the situation.
A source stated the company is dealing with the same issues that Broadway and other sports leagues have dealt with over recent weeks due to the Omicron variant.
The hope is the wrestlers who have tested positive already can be cleared in time for the WWE Day 1 pay-per-view event on January 1st.
