Fans are going to see a lot more of Austin Theory on WWE television.
Last Monday night on Raw, Theory was given a lot of screen time with Vince McMahon in backstage segments that led to McMahon slapping Theory in the final hour of the show.
Although some may argue that having Theory getting slapped by McMahon is not the best way to put him over, those segments were put together with the intent to give him the rub from the boss.
Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Theory got so much TV time because his match with Big E from two weeks ago did well, especially with teenagers.
Theory is one of the young wrestlers that are getting pushed as the company looks to attract younger viewers since the younger demographic is what advertisers care about the most.
During his interview on “After The Bell with Corey Graves,” Theory commented on the slap from McMahon: “It’s like when you think wrestling, and you think wrestling god, it’s Vince McMahon. I think when I’m sitting there and I’m talking with him, it doesn’t get bigger than this, and already. I probably watched the video of getting slapped 100 times. I would just say, just don’t upset Vince McMahon because he has some hands.”
