WWE is always locking down new names, but sometimes the intention of that name is now known. The company just nailed down a trademark on a new name and it is unclear how they will use that new name.
Vince McMahon’s company registered a trademark for Bodhi Hayward on November 10th. As of this writing, we are not sure who is getting that new name.
The registration was done in the same way that most pro wrestling copyrights are filed. It was registered under the “entertainment services” category with the following specifications.
Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.
We will keep our eyes peeled for Bodhi Hayward down the line. This could be the name for an upcoming NXT 2.0 Superstar, but WWE has been known to file trademarks for any number of reasons. Given the specifics regarding this filing, it’s safe to say we’re talking about a new Superstar’s name.
