While there has been a lot of talk about the contracts expiring soon for Kevin Owens and Johnny Gargano, another name that could be on his way out of WWE is NXT star Kyle O’Reilly.

PWInsider is reporting that O’Reilly’s contract is set to expire at the end of next month so he could sign with another wrestling promotion as soon as January 1st.

O’Reilly is reportedly listed internally as the number two babyface on the NXT brand but, as noted last night in the tweet below, he has been removed from the banner on the NXT page on WWE.com and he’s been replaced by Bron Breakker. O’Reilly has been paired with Von Wagner in recent weeks on NXT TV.

If O’Reilly leaves WWE then that could set up an Undisputed Era/reDragon reunion in AEW as his former teammates Adam Cole and Bobby Fish are already there.

A few weeks back, Bobby Fish said the following to PWInsider about a potential dream partner for himself in AEW:

“I don’t know. It’s hard to say. I look at a guy like Bryan [Danielson] and Bryan and I are so similar and yet so different in a very similar way. I know as opponents, we have some chemistry there that I won’t deny and that I’m very appreciative of. I don’t know. Could it be the same in a tag situation? I’m sure at some point for Pro Wrestling NOAH, we may have tagged. I don’t quite remember, but I guess off the top of my head I could kind of go there out of curiosity, but you bring up my tag experience in the past and I got to be honest, I don’t know. There’s a certain dance partner who most people would equate me to, and it would be difficult to think of myself in a tag scenario long-term and not see that dance partner. So there’s nobody in particular, but I mean I’d be up for a tag situation whatever is required of me. Like I’m just enjoying all of this and everything that AEW brings and the opportunities just keep presenting themselves and I got to thank Tony Khan for that. And I hope that they just keep coming. Whatever they are like, I’m ready to roll.”

It’s still possible that O’Reilly will sign a new deal with WWE but given the fact that Vince McMahon wants to focus on younger wrestlers, it’s hard to see how he will figure into NXT plans for the long term and the chances of him being featured as a top star on the main roster are slim.
