Jim Cornette is not afraid to ruffle feathers, especially if that means he is getting a point across on one of his two podcasts. Miro made his debut in AEW last year and there were a lot of expectations from him as he had proven to be a great performer. Miro finally lived up to his potential after defeating Darby Allin for the TNT Championship. Since then he was booked as a very strong champion.
Miro became a sought after champion in AEW. His pure dominance over his opponents has certainly put the pro wrestling world on notice. He would then lose the TNT Championship to Sammy Guevara in September.
At AEW Full Gear, Miro squared off against Bryan Danielson in the finals of the AEW World Championship Eliminator Tournament. It was a very stiff and physical match as both of them were determined to win. In the end Danielson won the match.
While speaking on Jim Cornette’s Drive-Thru, Cornette criticized the ending to the match, as he stated that it was very sloppy and the only bad thing about an otherwise great match.
“The only thing I was not a fan of in this match was the finish because they go up to the turnbuckle and are fighting and jockeying for position and everything but Danielson hits a DDT off the top somewhat. How do you really do that? It was nowhere near as smoothly and sharply executed as everything else they had done but boom, he does than and front facelocks Miro and the referee rings the bell because he is out.
I know they are telling the story of the bad neck Miro has, the weak neck but all the s*** they did that was brilliant and the sloppiest looking this was the finish. But it was a great match.
Bryan Danielson is currently the #1 contender to the AEW World Championship. On the other hand, there is no clue what Miro will do next. We will have to wait and see when is next in store for Miro.
