Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso has a story up on the issues that led to ROH announcing plans to take a hiatus after the Final Battle pay-per-view.

The story notes that the ROH tape library is available and will go to the highest bidder and that the company has been trying to sell the library for over a year. Only the Sinclair-owned archive that dates back to 2012 is available.

The library includes the All In show that was seen as one of the major launching pads for the formation of All Elite Wrestling. ROH owns the footage because they produced the show.

Reportedly, ROH has had trouble selling the library because they are asking for more than the market dictates. Another thing to note about the library is that it would not include footage of names like CM Punk or Bryan Danielson since they were gone years before Sinclair took over.

ROH’s plan is to return by April for Supercard of Honor and the plan is to become a true independent promotion with wrestlers not under contract. Whether or not they actually return is a different story.
