It was reported earlier this month that WWE shut down the Japan division of their company (WWE Japan LLC).
This came after WWE canceled three events in Japan in 2020 due to the pandemic and didn’t announce any plans to run shows this year.
WWE Japan website posted an update noting, “As of September 24th, the WWE Japan official website (wwe.co.jp) will be closed. We will continue to deliver WWE information in Japanese from the following SNS accounts.”
They listed the WWE Japanese official accounts on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram for fans to follow going forward.
The statement went on to state, “As a result, the contact point for inquiries in Japanese will also be closed. We apologize for any inconvenience, and thank you for your understanding and understanding. Thank you for your patronage over the years.”
For several years, there had been talk of WWE going into different countries as they had done in the UK where they would set up a Performance Center and an NXT brand. Japan was a country discussed, but that is no longer happening.
