Jon Jones was arrested on a misdemeanor domestic battery charge along with a felony tampering or injuring with a vehicle charge. We are still awaiting more information, but Twitter is having a field day with this one.
Jones might not want to perform a vanity search for himself when he is released. Tons of fans are mocking his recent run-in with the law in a big way. His named trended in top spots across social media as people commentated on his recent arrest.
“Might not be a bigger wasted talent than Jon Jones,” said Kazeem Famuyide. That tweet received a slew of responses that agreed with him for his assessment on how Jon Jones keeps wasting his career with these legal issues.
Kay Hansen tweeted out to say, “Getting inducted into the UFC hall of fame one day then getting arrested the next is the most “Jon Jones” thing I’ve ever heard of.” Jones was in Vegas to accept his induction.
Luke Thomas tweeted out to say, “Not trying to pile on a guy’s misery here and everyone is innocent until proven guilty, but Jones was also arrested and plead out for relatively serious charges during the pandemic that many forgot about. The idea his out of the cage troubles are behind him seems premature.”
It was also noted that last night Jon Jones literally said in an interview that he is trying to do “less legally controversial sh*t.”
We will continue monitoring this story here at Thirsty, because there could be a lot of unpack once information is made available.
