The Good Doctor Season 5 Trailer Previews Shaun and Lea’s Wedding


ABC has finally debuted the official trailer for the upcoming fifth season of David Shore’s hit medical drama The Good Doctor, starring Golden Globe nominee Freddie Highmore. The series is scheduled to make its return on Monday, September 27.

The Good Doctor Season 5 trailer, which you can check out in the player below, highlights the events following last season’s finale where Lea asked Shaun to marry her. The video teases some of the problems that the engaged couple will go through as they try to plan their perfect wedding.

The Good Doctor currently stars Freddie Highmore as Dr. Shaun Murphy, Hill Harper as Dr. Marcus Andrews, Richard Schiff as Dr. Aaron Glassman, Will Yun Lee as Dr. Alex Park, Fiona Gubelmann as Dr. Morgan Reznick, Christina Chang as Dr. Audrey Lim, Paige Spara as Lea Dilallo, Bria Samoné Henderson as Dr. Jordan Allen, Noah Galvin as Dr. Asher Wolke, and Osvaldo Benavides as Dr. Mateo Rendón Osma.

“The series centers around Dr. Shaun Murphy, a young surgeon with autism and savant syndrome, who relocates from a quiet country life to join the prestigious St. Bonaventure hospital’s surgical unit,” reads the synopsis. “Alone in the world and unable to personally connect with those around him, his only advocate, Dr. Aaron Glassman (Richard Schiff), challenges the skepticism and prejudices of the hospital’s board and staff when he brings him in to join the team. Shaun will need to work harder than he ever has before, as he navigates his new environment and relationships to prove to his colleagues that his extraordinary medical gifts will save lives.”

Based on the hit 2013 South Korean drama series which starred award-winning actors Joo Won and Moon Chae-Won, The Good Doctor was developed by House creator David Shore, who also serves as the showrunner. It is executive produced by Daniel Dae Kim, Shore, Sebastian Lee, and David Kim.
