Netflix’s Maid Trailer Starring Margaret Qualley & Andie MacDowell

Netflix has released the full Maid trailer for the upcoming series adaptation of Stephanie Land’s New York Times best-selling memoir of the same name. Starring Emmy nominee Margaret Qualley, and Golden Globe nominee Andie MacDowell in their first project together, the series is scheduled to make its debut on Friday, October 1.

The video, which you can check out in the player below, highlights a young single mother’s determination to support her daughter by enduring a hard and low-paying job as a maid. While struggling to make ends meet, she must also fight for her rights to her daughter’s custody against her abusive former partner.

Maid hails from executive producers Stephanie Land and Oscar nominee Margot Robbie through her LuckyChap Entertainment banner. It stars Margaret Qualley (The Leftovers), Nick Robinson (A Teacher), Anika Noni Rose (Power), Tracy Vilar (Saved), Billy Burke (Revolution), and Golden Globe nominee Andie MacDowell (Cedar Cove). It will also feature Rylea Nevaeh Whittet, Raymond Ablack, BJ Harrison, Xavier de Guzman, Aimee Carrero, and Toby Levins.

“The series follows the story of Alex, a single mother who turns to housecleaning to — barely — make ends meet as she escapes an abusive relationship and overcomes homelessness to create a better life for her daughter, Maddy,” reads the official synopsis. “Seen through the emotional yet humorous lens of a desperate but determined woman, this series is a raw and inspiring exploration of a mother’s resilience.”

Maid is written and executive produced by Molly Smith Metzler, who is also set as the showrunner. Executive producers are John Wells, Margot Robbie, Tom Ackerley, Erin Jontow, Brett Hedblom, and Stephanie Land. It is a production by Warner Bros. Television, John Wells Productions, and LuckyChap Entertainment.
