Big E’s WWE Championship win was not a late decision

The big story coming out of this week’s episode of WWE Raw is Big E winning the WWE Championship from Bobby Lashley.

It was reported over the weekend that things were changed around for Raw because of the AEW Dynamite rating but the decision to put the title on Big E was not last minute and it was always in the plans, but it was originally supposed to happen at a different date.

Andrew Zarian from the Mat Men Podcast is reporting that Big E’s title win was supposed to happen during the original draft date for Raw. The WWE Draft was originally scheduled for the end of August but it is now scheduled for October 1st (SmackDown) and October 4th (Raw).

At this point, it looks like Randy Orton vs. Bobby Lashley might not happen at Extreme Rules but that is not confirmed because the match is still listed on the Extreme Rules page on WWE.com.

Big E vs. Lashley in a rematch seems likely since they gave Lashley the excuse that he lost because his knee was injured. Orton also has the excuse that he had an injured ankle when he lost to Lashley.
